Just Include
Launched in September 2024; Just Include has a vision for an accessible and inclusive society were disabled people’s voices are heard and they no longer face discrimination or inequality.
Our work is split into 3 strands:
– Educating disabled people through the creation of resources/workshops around political and legislative processes, policy and campaigning/lobbying.
– Empowering disabled people through providing a platform for disabled people to share ideas and collaborate on campaigns and social action projects through events and working groups.
– Engaging policymakers and government to ensure that disabled people are heard and considered in decision making and the legislative process.
The launch event will not only provide an insight and overview of Just Include, but will be focused on Just Include’s launch of its Northern Ireland Project. Which consists of a comprehensive handbook breaking down the Northern Ireland Executive and Assembly, and a series of accompanying workshops to empower disabled people to advocate and be heard on the issues they are passionate about.
Just Include will also launch its digital accessibility campaign; DigitAll with an accompanying policy briefing paper. As currently disabled people are largely excluded from the digital world, which has become increasingly central in society over the last decade, as there is no protections through legislative means.
The event will be attended by policymakers alongside the 3rd sector and the wider disability community, It would be wonderful to see you there, as we launch this exciting project.
